Fieldspilot for

Pay for time on site. Proven on the map.

HVAC calls, lawn routes, pool service: an arrival prompt starts the job, and every clock-in carries a pin you can check against the address.

Nico’s morning, stop by stop

In range of the job

In range, one tap, clock running.

01 Switch it on

Set the radius. Every job gets a fence.

Choose 100, 200 or 500 meters around each address, and how far off a punch can be before it’s flagged.

Every job address gets the 200 m fence.

  • Geofence prompts
  • 100, 200 or 500 m
  • Distance limit
  • A fence per address
02 It runs itself

Every punch pinned. Odd ones flagged.

Starts and finishes are measured against the address, and weak indoor readings are noted, not flagged.

Rae’s 1.2 km clock-in is flagged before payday.

  • Start and end pins
  • Distance from site
  • Accuracy filter
  • Location-off notice
03 You stay in control

Prompt, don’t force. You set how strict.

Keep auto-start off so techs confirm each job, or switch it on. Techs see why location is needed before the phone asks.

Auto-start stays off until you turn it on.

  • Prompt or auto-start
  • Flag distance
  • Background permission
  • Low-battery geofencing
04 Hands off to the next step

Pins match the address. Settled before payday.

Open the time card map to see start and end against the address, fix it with a reason, and only checked hours go to pay.

Rae’s Kent entry is fixed, with the reason on file.

  • Time card map
  • Edit with a reason
  • Original kept
  • Checked hours to pay

Pest control

91% of US adults own a smartphone (Pew Research, 2025). Pest techs’ phones prompt them to start the visit at the curb, no time clock needed.

Roofing

Re-roof punches more than about 0.3 miles (1,640 ft) from the job are flagged as a location mismatch before the pay run.

Pressure washing

Rest breaks of 20 minutes or less are usually paid work time (US Dept. of Labor). House-wash crews log breaks on the same timesheet as their GPS punches.

Property maintenance

Unit turns start inside a 650-foot geofence by default, and two work orders at one building let the tech pick the right unit.

Window cleaning

Top teams turn 80–90% of available hours into billable ones (Jobber data, 2026). Storefront routes split travel from on-site time by GPS.

Tree care

Back-wage recoveries averaged $1,465 per worker in fiscal 2025 (US Dept. of Labor). Drives between removals log as travel on their own, so paid hours hold up.

Painting

Set rounding to none and painters’ hours match the punch to the minute, and any edit to a repaint’s start keeps the original.

GPS Time Tracking questions

Does it drain my techs’ batteries?

Barely. The phone’s own geofencing wakes the app near a job, instead of the app polling GPS all day.

What if a tech clocks in away from the job?

The punch is saved with its pin and flagged if it’s past your distance limit. You check it on the map and decide.

Can the clock start and stop on its own?

Yes. Arriving prompts the tech to start the job, leaving asks if it’s finished, and you can switch on auto-start to skip the tap.

What about weak GPS inside a building?

A far-off reading with poor accuracy is noted on the entry, not flagged, so indoor jobs don’t raise false alarms.
